The
Frisco Ballet "Leaps" into the Holidays with their
Nutcracker Production.
Gasps
of excitement, thunder of applause, and holiday cheers filled
Liberty
High
School’s auditorium during
The Frisco Ballet’s Nutcracker performances.
With sold out performances, The Frisco Ballet clearly
demonstarted why they have been labeled throughout the community as
“Frisco’s Ballet Company”. Children and adults alike were on
the edge of their seats as they watched the beauty and grace of The
Frisco Ballet ring in the holiday season, bringing The Nutcracker to life. This classic
fairy tale presentation was clearly depicted with beautiful
costumes, impeccable classical ballet dancing, excellent
choreography, and fabulous scenery. The Frisco Ballet, ranging
in age from 9-24, spends hours in classical ballet class and
rehearsals each week at Sheena's Dance
Academy. In addition to their intense classical
ballet training, TFB dancers gain self confidence and the
reassurance that anything is possible in the dance world with proper
commitment, discipline, role models, and training.
2007 Arts Scholarship Recipients: Morgan Keith
and Jackie Monk
Awarded to The Frisco Ballet by Frisco
Association for the Arts
Morgan Keith (age 15) and Jackie Monk (age
16), both long time dance students of Miss Sheena's at Sheena's
Dance Academy and company members of The Frisco Ballet, were awarded
the 2007 Arts Scholarship from the Frisco Association for the
Arts. These scholarship funds assisted Morgan and Jackie
with summer tuition expenses at the Joffrey Ballet in New York
after having auditioned and been invited to study in New
York.
Keith and Monk study classical ballet,
jazz, contemporary, modern, and lyrical dance daily under the
direction of Sheena Laramore at Sheena's Dance Academy, while also
performing with The Frisco Ballet.
Sheena's Dance Academy and The Frisco
Ballet are very proud to add Miss Monk and Miss Keith to the long
list of students to receive the opportunity to persevere in the
world of dance, acheiving their dance dreams and
goals.
